Working with stencils IV - Silhouettes

If you are a beginner in working with stencils, try silhouettes. It is easy to cut them out, you can use both parts and it is a beautiful way to embellish journal pages, to make cards or even a beautiful print for your wall.

Michelle Ward Crusade wants some art with stencil. Here I have some journal pages I made, with acrylic underpainting and painting the stencil with acrylic.

I don't like to use the sprays, because the place I work on is too small and i don't like the smell from the spray paint. But I made the same pic with spray.

Where in the world...

Michelle Wards Crusade Nr. 15 (?) is "Where in the World...". She will know a little about the place we live. I've made a little collage with the typical things of São Paulo, the city where I have been lived all my life (and some years in Viena - Austria).

São Paulo is a big city, uggly, chaotic, dangerous, but people love to live here. When you ask people , I think they can't tell you why.

Maybe beacuse here you can find the big job opportunities, you have people from everywhere in the world, a muslim and a jew living peaceful together, you can find creativity with few things. Bad architecture, but you have Niemeyer too.

You can eat at street vendors or in expensive restaurants. Here you can find (this is great), the weekly street market with all kinds of vegetables and fruits. And it is cheap! With about U$ 10 you have meal for the whole week. And healthy!

And the most important: the sun. Ok, We have some rainy days, but abou 200 or more days in a year we have sun. And sun means: beach. And this is the best!

Posted on dezember, 13: I was speaking with a friend, who arrives yesterday from Germany. The most important thing in Brazil is: people laugh and doesn't takes life too serieously! (she said that).

Crush on you - Crusade Nr. 12

I'm crush on "striped fabrics". Not to wear, but to have and photograph it. I think they have a graphic touch and they work well with a lot of elements. I loved the obe, which are black and white because they are bolder then the others.

Crusade Nr. 8 - Cheap Tricks

And here are the journal pages I created with the stamps and collage stuff from newspapers and magazines.

Cheap Tricks - Crusade Nr. 8

Michelle Ward dare us to show our cheap triks to make art. My cheap tricks are the stamps I make by myself. The stamps are on foam, rubber, linoleum and rubber cement (there is a special technique to make rubber stamps from rubber cement, I'll show it on a other day). I think the greatest pleasure is to make the stamps, not to use them. Here are pictures from my stamps and some journal pages with that stamps and my cut outs from newspapers and magazines.

I love to use too the inexpensive paper from newspaper also to print with my printer. This paper has a great texture, very smoth and the color is ok, because it is not so white. It is a little old.

Like many other peoples I love to buy cheap little things, such as buttons, silk flowers and jewelry parts to embelish the collages and assemblages.

Collection Crusade 6 - Michelle Ward

Today I finished my collections pics.

I have many small collections. For instance, I have a collection from gifts people gave me. Little stuff, they brought from journeys just to say " I was thinking on you". Then I have a collection of "found" objects, which, sometimes, I probably want to use to make an art piece. There are medical instruments for womans, which I wanted to have used to make some art pieces with the theme "pain".

There are a collection of dolls and angels because they are "so nice".

Once I began a collection of wine glasses. Everywhere I had been, I bought a wine glass.

The same with my shells. During my trips to the brazilian beachs I always look for it. Then I have a lot of shells from many places from Brazil.

I don't know I can say this is a collection. It is more a sample of things I like and I must have around me.

Projetos adiados

Hoje a minha impressora entrou em falência múltipla. Ela não imprime mais. Até ontem estava boazinha, e hoje, mesmo tendo comprado cartuchos novos, ele só imprime em azul. E eu com tantos projetos na cabeça, que precisam de impressora. Aliás, todos os meus projetos precisam de impressora. Não estava nos meus planos comprar uma impressora nova agora, mas vou ter que fazê-lo.

Estou começando, e pra isso preciso da impressora, um diário. É um journal, isto quer dizer que você registra as coisas de seu dia em imagens e desenhos. Nunca cconsegui fazer um diário na vida (agora estou fazendo este blog) e também fazendo o tal do journal.
