Step outside your boxes - Doll

I've not a great experience in doll making and I don't now if they are "art dolls".

Step outside your boxes - No glue

"Step outside your boxes" surprised us today with a great challenge: no glue.

We must attach our work with wire, eyelets, sew or any other way, but we can not use glue.

I love wire and old metal plates.

I've aged this metal sheet on the fire (from my stove) and attached the picture with wire. And I have a lot of junky emebellishments from old necklaces, earrings, belts. They are also attached with wire.

It's beautiful over an old book.

Assemblage

Theme from "Step outside your boxes" is "Beeswax". I made this assemblage (not really finished), and I've used beeswax on the ground.
The pics were transfered with tape, and the background were made with acrylic colors with stencils.

the theme is "house".

And for TMTA (geometric) I made the ATC.

It was hard to put the three themes together, maybe it would have been better to do three works. Voilá!

Step outside your boxes - Rusty Things

"Step outside your boxes" ask us to make something rusty.

Instead of looking for rusty things, I made some fake "rusty".

The background is a coaster, which I painted with acrylic gesso and crackle varnish. Then I layed over with sepia and veronese green acrylic paints and a little cooper. I made the same with the tile, wich is a stamped (stamp from Stampington) polymer clay tile.

Over the backgound I glued the woman with glasses (I can use it too for "thankgoditsfriday").

The round metallic thing is a really rusty.

Step outside your boxes

"Step outside your boxes" ask us to make some "Magazine Art".

In this card I've worked basically with textures and letters. All is something I took from a magazine, except the greeen stamp, which is from "lost and Coast Designs" and the self carved red one.

This was a great challenge because you have to search for patterns, letters, textures.

And there are no florishes!!!!

New Challenge - Acrylic Paints

The new challenge "Step outside your box" ask us to make something with acrylic paints. I'm not a big fan from paints (OK I'm a painter too) with paper and collage and stamps and cissors, a big mess on my table.

But I've accepted the challenge and made a little book about summer and beach. I've found beautiful summer fabric pictures in a magazine and I went over with white,sepia and some blue acrylic. Then I put the pics and some stamps.

The words are computer generated (I have great fonts in my computer, which I never use) printed over a transparence and transfered to the collage. It's great! Now I've found a way to use my one words in my collages.
