More collage work

My husband has a cold and because of that we stay home today. I made a lot of tea for him and a lot of collages too. I hope he will get better tomorrow.

Card Background

Michelle Ward suggested we use stencil to make cards background. I followed hers suggestion and made this background. It is a photocopie transfered to a sheet of paper. Over there I layered a stencil and then I "sprayed" it with acrylic and a toothbrush. I will make a collage over there.

Tasty Template

The Daring Card Makers offered a template to make a card or whatever. I made this card based on the doned template. I hope Gillian will like it.

ATCs

Hier sind drei ATCs die ich gemacht habe. Dabei habe ich keine Stempel benutzt, nur die Karten vorher mit Photoshop brushes bedruckt und dann die collagen gemacht.

I'm back in São Paulo. It was a very good week with lovely people I hadn't saw them for a long time. It was all perfect and the place was peacefull. I was in the city Inaja, in Paraná with relatives who lives there. It's a nice farm with lambs, cows, dogs, cats and a lot of green. I love it! Now I'm back to the gray from São Paulo.

Eigenes Grunge-Papier machen/ Make your own Grunge-Paper

Man kann leicht sein eigenes "altes" grungiges Papier herstellen.

1. Stück Papier zerknüllen. Am besten man nimmt nicht so dickes Papier, aber es eignet sich auch für


Cardboard.
1. Scrump a sheet of paper. Is better to use a fine sheet, but it works too with cardboard.

2. Auf dem zerknüllten Papier leicht mit einem Bleistift drübergehen. Man muss nur aufpassen, dass man die Bleichtiftstriche nicht so sieht, deshalb den Bleistift schräg halten.
2. Go over the scrumped paper with a pencil. Make sure to do it gently, to avoid pencil marks.

3. Papier glätten und mit dem Finger drübergehen, um die Bleistiftspuren zu verwischen. Geh noch mal mit dem Bleistif drüber, falls du es dunkler haben willst.
3. Straight the paper and go over the pencil strokes with the finger to smudge the paper. Repeat the procedure with the pencil if you want darker marks.

4. Auf eine Karte aufkleben. Wenn man dabei Zeitungspapier benutzt und "gum arabic" zum kleben entstehen dann auch so schöne, alte Spuren.
4. Glue the paper over a card. If you use "gum arabic" and newspaper paper, the gum arabic will aged it a little.

Wednesdaystamper - Grunge

Ich war so begeistert etwas "grungiges" zu machen, dass ich die Karte überladen habe. Dann hatte ich eine halbfertige collage, die ich auch begrunged habe.

Isas Scrap and Stamp

This is for Isas Challenge with distress ink. I made the technique as background on textured paper. Over this I stamped. Then I glued over a frame wich was sewing and glued a photo that was prepared with crackle varnish. Some scrap paper and it was done.
I hope it is Ok for the challenge.

This is a new digital collage. I'm trying and trying with Photoshop, I have many new brushes and slowly I can do some collages.

I don't know, if it is the best way for a work of art. PS is a good tool, but I think that is a kind of modern ready-made, because you must only click and the work is done.

Lobão - Acústico MTV

Valeu a pena ver o "Acústico MTV" do Lobão. As violas violavam de todos os lados. O instrumental, a meu ver, estava perfeito, já que sou fâ incondicional dele. Lobão sempre pagou pelas suas atitudes e suas palavras, e todos esquecem de ver o músico fantástico que ele é.

"Me chama", "A vida é doce" e outras tantas músicas foram de arrepiar.

Mulher Mulheres - Sesc Paulista

Fui ver a exposição Mulher Mulheres no Sesc da Av. Paulista. A exposição vai de 8 demarço a 10 de junho de 2007. É uma exposição conjunta com a Art for the World. Pequena, despretensiosa e delicada a mostra. Gostei!

Principalmente pelas palavras do diretor do Sesc Danilo Santos de Miranda:

"Em um Teto todo seu, Virginia Wolf afirma que a independência econômica é o único caminho possível ao desenvolvimeno de um talento criativo. Ao referir-se à ficção literária, a escritora aponta essa como necessidade válida tanto para homens como para mulheres. Entretanto, é do universo feminino que ela fala, já que ao homem ambas as possibilidades sempre estiveram e mantêm-se abertas, tal qual um direito adquirido, enquanto para a mulher elas podem definir ou não o sentimento de pertença cultural e o lugar que lhes cabe nas sociedades."

Esta é a importância desta exposição. Mostrar que das mulheres do mundo são poucas aquelas que conseguem ter esta indepedência econômica e tudo o que fazem para se manter a si e às suas famílias. Os pensamentos por trás de meus trabalhos são sempre estes. Por mais que ela lute, ela não deixa de ser escrava mesmo achando que não o é. Poucas são as mulheres realmente autônomas. A maioria delas vive de maneira escrava, sofrendo, apanhando, e lutando sempre.

Um dos trabalhos da exposição é um vídeo da artista performática Marina Abramovic (fotos). O trabalho dela na Bienal de Veneza, não me lembro o ano, mas é recente, lavando ossos em repúdio à guerra em seu país, me fêz chorar. Foi uma das coisas mais belas que já se fez em arte.

I'm trying to work with Photoshop. Then I made this card, which is a mix of Photoshop, rubberstamp and vintage photo. I think this is a good mix.


Tô tentanto trabalhar com o Photoshop, ferramenta nova pra mim. Aí fiz o fundo no PS, adicionei carimbo e foto antiga. Acho que como primeira experiência ficou legal.

This is a serie I'm thinking about. I want to bring together calligraphies from around the world (it's not important what they mean) with photos. This is one of this works. I don't know if it really works (sic).

300 - Xerxes

Heute habe ich den Film "Die 300 von Sparta" gesehen, hauptsächlich weil der König Xerxes von Rodrigo Santoro, einem brasilianischen Schauspieler, dargestellt wird. Die Geschichte ist ja zum Heulen, aber die Bilder sind fantastisch. Rodrigo Santoro war auch zum Heulen, ich glaube sie dachten er ist Brasilianer und deshalb müsste man ihm gleich ein Karnevalkostüm aufsetzen. Vielleicht hat er sich auf die Marquês de Sapucaí gefühlt mir seinem Gewand und seinem "carro alegórico". Traurig!
Aber trotzdem hat es sich gelohnt, auch wenn manche Aufnahmen ein bisschen zu süss waren.

E faz um bom resumo do filme "300" com o nosso queridíssimo Rodrigo Santoro, que aliás parecia mais seu personagem no filme "Carandiru" (onde fez o personagem gay) do que realmente um rei da Pérsia. Mais parecia que ele iria desfilar na Marquês de Sapucaí, do que atuar num filme sobre a Grécia antiga. Enfim, o filme vale pelas imagens, maravilhosas. Os atores são sofríveis e o enredo não se sustenta sem imagens.

Afrika

Ich hatte Belinda(Wednesdaystamper) vorgeschlagen, etwas über das Thema Afrika zu machen, da ich eine Menge Adinkra-Stempel besitze. Das veranlagte mich dazu eine Karte mit diesen Stempeln zu machen. Ich habe "afrikanische" Farben benutzt (rot, grün, gelb) solche, die man hier in Brasilien (besser gesagt Bahia) bei Timbalada erlebt. Dazu die Stempeln.

Angie

Vor vier Jahren, in dieser Woche, hat meine Freundin Angie uns verlassen. Es war für mich sehr traurig und ich kann es schwer vergessen. Zwei Tage nach ihrem Tod träumte ich, dass sie ein Engel, ein wunderschönes Wesen, holte. Mit diesem Bild möchte ich ihr zeigen, wo immer sie auch ist, dass ich an sie denke.

Four years ago, my friend Angie is passed away. I can't forget it, it was very sad. Two days after her death I had a dream that an angel, a beautiful woman, cames and carried her. With this picture I will show her, wherever she is, that I think about her always.

Gestern bekam ich endlich die Stempel von Michelle Ward at Stampington. Einfach super Klasse! Die clearly impressed sind wirklich schön. Und dann musste ich sie auch ausprobieren und habe ein paar ATC's damit gemacht.

Eine andere digitale Collage zum Thema.

DCM - Heritage

I don't know the exactly mean from the word Heritage.

I made this work some time ago. The picture on the collage is a photo from a girlfriend from my husband. This friendship is so old that he could not remember her name. I don't know why I have this photo. In a strange way I have it with my other old photos.

So, I thought to made a collage with a photo from a unknown woman. I think this is a kind of "heritage" or not?

Wednesdaystamper

Na ja, ich hab's versucht, war aber nicht sehr erfolgreich dabei. Trotzdem war es für mich eine echte Herausforderung. Hatte ein anderes Kuvert gemacht aber das ist total daneben gegangen. Hier auf dieser (unteren) Seite der Erde findet man nicht die geeigneten Materialien und dann muss man sehr erfinderisch sein. Und wenn man etwas findet ist es wahnsinnig teuer. Ein Stempel für den in USA z.B. US$ 2,- kostet, zahlt man hier dafür wenigstens US$ 10,-. Dann muss ich immer sehr kreativ sein.
Ich warte sehnsüchtig auf meine Stempel von Stampington (Michelle's Stempel). Mal sehen wann der Postmann mir etwas bringt.

I love the sixties

Schon lange spiele ich mit dem Gedanken etwas über die sechziger-Jahre zu machen. Ich hatte mit eine Aquarell-Serie begonnen, aber der Hintergrund machte so viel Arbeit, dass ich es aufgegeben habe. Jetzt versuche ich es mit digitaler Collage und es geht viel besser.

Die sechziger Jahre waren in aller Hinsicht sehr wichtig. In Mode, Kunst, Literatur usw. Sie waren wirklich eine Wende und wir erleben sie heute wieder auf einer modernen Weise.

Pop-Art, Andy Warhol, Rauschenberg und andere prägen heute noch die Arbeiten renomierter Künstler. Auch wenn wir mit Stempeln arbeiten, arbeiten wir irgendwie mit Pop Art. Die mechanisierung der künstlerischen Schaffung, die silk screen Arbeiten von Andy Warhol, die Xerox Collagen von Rauschenberg beeinflussen auch unsere Stempelarbeiten. Ein bisschen Magritte ist auch dabei, wenn wir beflügelte Leute machen. Aber Magritte gehört auch zu Pop Art, ween nicht zeitlich, aber ein grosser Einfluss.

Was mir an die sechziger gefällt sind hauptsächlich die Buntheit und Muster der Stoffe, das biedere der fünfziger wurde total vergessen. Ein Palazzo-Pijama ist unvergesslich und auch Mary Quant.

Bei den Collagen werde ich mich hauptsächlich mit dem Thema Mode und Stoffmuster beschäftigen.

Some times ago I begann a watercolor-serie about the sixties. But it was a hard work to paint the fabric textures and I gave up.

Now I'm making the collages digital and it works very well. I can transform the color in a sixty way.

The sixties were an important time in fashion, art and life style. There was the time when our modern life beganns.

There was also the Pop Art, Andy Warhol, Rauschenberg and so. For the first time art becames most popular. Or almost every one could be an artist, because people didn"t need to have some special painting or sculptur habilities, but good ideas.

Stamping is very Pop Art, because anyone can be an artist. People needs only to have good ideas and the stamps do the rest. We use some ideas from Magritte too when we stamp, such as the wings and so, but Magritte is a little pop too.

What I love in the sixties are the fashion and the fabrics prints. They are so colorful and they have such power. Do you know what a Palazzo-Pijama is? Unforgetable.

Secrets

The challenge from inspiremethursday this week is Secrets. The secrets in your art work.

My art work, watercolors or paintings, always have many layers. Normally, the paintings begann with a certain color and the end result is completely different from the original work.

This work, for instance, beganns with a blue underpainting, then I put over a layer of acrylic gesso, over that I scrap words, like "pain" and other words, thain I applied more paint layers. At last I spraied over it like a graffiti. You can not see the words, they are hidden on the layers of paint. But they are there. Some of my works have 10 or more layers of thinny paint coats.
