Gothic Arch

I'm still working with the pattern theme and I'm trying to make some different backgrounds with this.

There are many different patterns here, but I think they work well together.

There is a new challenge, where you must work only with Gothic Arches. This shape is not familiar to me, because of that I try to make two pieces with them.
The stamps I used are from "Non-Sequitur".

Digital collage - Old Photos

I made this digital collage with digitalscrapbook elements from http://eye-on-design.com and http://wittyliving.com, which has wonderful digital scrap pages to download and also tutorial with PSP9 to make you digital scrapbook pages.

And then I add brushes. I love brushes!

Altered Matchbox

Another altered matchbox.It's fun to make this little things. For this one I make a shrine of carboard, and the milagro is self-made from a juica can.

A new "Klimt" exercise

Klimt is a nice exercise for textures. He used so much different patterns and they look so good together! Try to do it! You must have different swirl stamps, and stencils and paper. The basic shapes are tringles, swirls and dquares. The basic colors are red, yellow and blue. Put it together and you have a collage in a Klimt way.

Esta colagem eu fiz em homenagem aos banqueiros, que nesta semana publicaram seus balanços e, novamente, fizeram lucros astronômicos. Enquanto isto, em algum lugar, o povo desenterra carne imprópria para uso e faz um churrasco. Será comemoração?

Black and white and Klimt

Black and white collages are a great exercise for compositions. When you made a card, try to see it in black and white. Scan the pic and made it black and white in our computer (use Photoshop or similar). Only when black and white composition has an harmony, your card is right.

Schwarz-weiss Collagen sind eine gute Übung für Komposition. Wenn du eine Karte machst, versuche sie in schwarz-weiss zu sehen. Scanne das Bild und mache es schwrz-weiss in deinem computer (benutze Photoshop o.ä. dazu). Wenn die schwarz-weiss Komposition harmonisch ist, ist deine Karte auch bunt o.K.

Mail Art

Paula Caetano, vom Kulturamt von Santo André, organisiert gerade eine Ausstellung "Poetik der Korrespondenz", einen Gedankenaustausch über Korrespondenz in Zeiten der Globalisierung und der modernen Medien. Jeder bekommet eine weisse Postkarte und soll darauf etwas zum Thema machen.
Das ist mein Beitrag dazu.

Paula Caetano, da "Casa do Olhar" em Santo André está organizando a exposição "Poética da Correspondência" em tempos de globalização e ds mídias contemporâneas. Cada artista rcebe um cartão em Branco e deve interferir sobre ele.

Für TMTa habe ich diese beiden Karten gemacht. Ich glaube ich bin die Letzte, denn die Mädels dort arbeiten sehr schnell.

Papier swap - Paper swap

Dumas (ein Künstler von SP) haben einen Paper-Swap gemacht. Er gab mir einige Scraps von seinem Arbeitsmaterial und ich gab ihm einige von meinen. Jetzt sollen wir Collagen daraus machen.
Bei dieser Collage habe ich dann eine Einladunskarte gewählt, scrap von Artchix und Stempel von Michelle Ward.

Dumas (an artist from SP) and me made a paper swap. He gaves me some of his scraps and I gave him some of mine. Then we must work with this papers. This is an invitation card, scrap from Artchix and stamps from Michelle Ward.

Primeira comunhão - assemblage

At the moment I'm working with religious elements. I'm not so religious, but the signs of the catholic religion are such wonderful, that I must work with them.

This piece is about the "primeira comunhão" (first communion?), when the kids must learn the catecism and on a special sunday they confirm the religion after the baptism. Until the sixties (?), here in Brazil and other latin american countries, kids must wear a special dress for this event. The girls weared a wedding dress, with a veil. Others use wings like little angels. The boys only a black suit. All have candles in their hands and after the religious ceremony all of them go to the photographer to take a picture of this important moment.

Today all of this has changed. There are no white dress, and no photographer, only a confuse and "modern" mass, where all sing "modern" religious songs and a priest reads automatically words that nobody hears.
