Where in the world...

Michelle Wards Crusade Nr. 15 (?) is "Where in the World...". She will know a little about the place we live. I've made a little collage with the typical things of São Paulo, the city where I have been lived all my life (and some years in Viena - Austria).

São Paulo is a big city, uggly, chaotic, dangerous, but people love to live here. When you ask people , I think they can't tell you why.

Maybe beacuse here you can find the big job opportunities, you have people from everywhere in the world, a muslim and a jew living peaceful together, you can find creativity with few things. Bad architecture, but you have Niemeyer too.

You can eat at street vendors or in expensive restaurants. Here you can find (this is great), the weekly street market with all kinds of vegetables and fruits. And it is cheap! With about U$ 10 you have meal for the whole week. And healthy!

And the most important: the sun. Ok, We have some rainy days, but abou 200 or more days in a year we have sun. And sun means: beach. And this is the best!

Posted on dezember, 13: I was speaking with a friend, who arrives yesterday from Germany. The most important thing in Brazil is: people laugh and doesn't takes life too serieously! (she said that).

Gaby - I think you're the only member of the team from your continent (unless someone new joins in). I never knew Sao Paulo was the biggest city in South America! Loved seeing your art and reading your description of where you are. There are good and bad things about every place in the world, but sun all the time would be nice! How intersting that you lived in Austria for a few years. What a change! Thanks for joining in the Crusade!

Gaby,
Thanks for the visit to your exotic location. The best part for me was hearing about people living peacefully together. I live in a sunny place too but do not have the vegetable markets and flower markets on the street. What I would do for that!

Gaby,
Thanks for the sun-filled mini vacation to Sao Paulo. You are so lucky to have vegetable and flower markets to stroll to...what American cities could learn!

Oi Gaby!

Beleza? I like your blog. I have a friend from Brazil so I know a little Portuguese. She makes wonderful cheesebread. Someday I will have to visit Brazil.

Hi Gaby! Your world sounds so different than mine (I live in the state of Oregon) but Sao Paulo sounds like a cool place to live. I like your description of the street markets, I've always been drawn to them anywhere I've visited!

I would love to visit that market in Sao Paulo - it will be a real feast for my eyes and nose! Only US $10 per week - that's a bargain compared to New York City. And the city sounds like fun place to explore. Thanks for sharing!

Toll! What a great post! The city sounds a little dangerous, but the beach sounds divine! I could use a little sunshine right about now!

I love the idea of the 200 days of sunshine and that Jews and Muslims peacefully co-exist.
